BRANDY YANCHYK is an award winning independent documentary filmmaker and journalist.
Since 2009, Brandy Yanchyk has made sixteen documentaries and eleven series for television and the App #BecomingAlbertan for Rogers’ OMNI TV.
Ms. Yanchyk’s productions cover a wide range of social and factual genres.
Since 2017 Brandy’s travel documentary series Seeing Canada and Seeing the USA have aired on PBS stations across the USA, on Create TV, on Amazon Prime and on AVOD channels and on airlines around the world.
Brandy Yanchyk has reported for BBC World’s The Travel Show covering stories in Canada, Finland, Australia and New Zealand for a global audience of 72 million viewers.
She has also worked as a Broadcast Journalist at BBC World TV and the BBC World Service in London.
Brandy was a News Reporter for CBC for over a decade in the Toronto, Edmonton and London, UK bureaus.
In 2014/2015 Brandy worked as a Statement Gatherer collecting the stories of Indian Residential School Survivors for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada. On a freehance basis Brandy continues to record statements of Indian Residential School Survivors for The National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation (NCTR).
Brandy’s radio documentaries have aired on CBC’s The Current, CBC’s Dispatches, Public Radio International’s The World, Deutsche Welle Radio and the BBC World Service.

Education:
Brandy Yanchyk has a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Radio and Television Arts from Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario. She also has a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a Specialization in Theatre Performance from Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec.
Brandy Yanchyk is a Fellow of The Royal Canadian Geographical Society and a member of the Society of American Travel Writers, Travel Media Association of Canada (TMAC) and The Documentary Organization of Canada (DOC).
